Tapi Carpets & Floors Limited (trading as Tapi Carpets and Tapi) is a British retailer based in Orpington who specialises in carpets and floors.

History

[edit]

Tapi Carpets was founded in 2015 by Carpetright founder Lord Harris and his son Martin as a competitor to the chain.

In July 2024, Martin Harris stepped down as CEO, leaving the company with no CEO for the time being.[1]

On 22 July 2024, Tapi Carpets brought the struggling Carpetright in a pre-packaged insolvency deal, a transaction that is often associated with the new company shedding its commitments to staff and creditors. It would also mean the Harris Family would have control of Carpetright again.[2][3][4]
